As painful as it is to face, eating fried food even once is a really, really bad health move. If you're trying to maintain a healthy diet and stay in the best health possible, avoid it like the plague. There are so many reasons why you should avoid fried food, and sticking to a healthy diet will be much easier if you do.
First of all, fried food and fatty treats like fries both cause and contribute to serious health conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. A nutritious diet doesn’t include anything fried, no matter how good it tastes. If you have a family history of either of the aforementioned illnesses, your doctor will tell you that you should work hard to avoid fried food whenever possible.
Second, fried foods are one of the leading causes of obesity in this country. Breaded, fatty and greasy, they stick to our insides and there is no way around it -- they cause weight gain! Additionally, foods that are high in fat contribute to digestive problems such as heartburn, bloating and gas, which are all caused by eating fat and oil. These same fatty treats are also high in trans-fats, just one more thing that puts you at risk for heart disease.
The most obvious reason to avoid fatty, fried foods: you'll feel lighter, both in body and mind. Indulging in heavy, greasy foods can lead to acne, oily skin, breakouts, weight gain, acid stomach, tiredness and lethargy, and even a shorter life span. You don't need to consult a professional nutritionist to learn that fried food is bad for every part of you.
So put down that fried chicken leg and swap it for a piece of lean, grilled chicken. Your body will thank you for it.
